The new currency note of Rs 2000 has several new security features. The RBI has tried to make it the fake proof. The design of new Rs 2000 note is different with the existing currency notes.
The mahatma Gandhi image has taken center stage in this note. The blank white space on the note is covering more area and shifted to the right. It has become a plain rectangle.
The new Rs 2000 currency note may resemble as the Dollar or Euro. The serial number of note is not at its defined position of top right and bottom left a border of the note. Rather, it is a undefined place. Also, the new Rs.2000 note has used the Devanagari characters for the value of currency – २०००
The RBI has also incorporated the Swachh Bharat message with this note. You would also see the image (motif) of Mangalyan. The greatest achievement of Indian space program.
The base color of the note is magenta. The note has other designs, geometric patterns aligning with the overall color scheme, both at the obverse (front ) and reverse (back).
The new Rs 2000 note is without the inset letter. Inset letter is printed just behind the serial number in light color. The inset letter tells is the code for the printing press. the RBI has several printing presses. The Dimension of Rs 2000 note is – 66 mm × 166 mm
The new Rs 2000 notes carry the signature of new governor Urjit R Patel.

 Security Features of New Rs 2000 Currency Note Obverse (Front) Side of Note

1.         There is a see-through a register. It is somewhat transparent. But you can see the 2000 written on it when it is held in front of the light.
2.         2000 is again written as a latent image. Normally you can’t see it. To see the ‘2000’ you have to put the note in the angle of 45 degrees.
3.         Denominational numeral २००० written in Devanagari with the rupee symbol.
4.         Portrait of Mahatma Gandhi at the center. The same Mahatma Gandhi Image is used.
5.         Just in the right of Mahatma Gandhi Portrait the Micro letters ‘RBI’ and ‘2000’ is written. To see these letters you should have good eyesight.
6.         Like the existing high denomination Indian currencies, there is windowed security thread with inscriptions ‘भारत’, RBI and 2000 . Note 2000 is also written. Colour of the thread changes from green to blue when the note is tilted
7.         Guarantee Clause, Governor’s signature with Promise Clause and RBI emblem towards right
8.         Mahatma Gandhi Portrait and Electrotype Water mark. You can see it by holding the note against the light.
9.         Number panel with numerals growing from small to big on the top left side and bottom right side
10.    Denominational numeral with Rupee Symbol, Rs 2000 in color changing ink (green to blue) on bottom right

Nano GPS chip Installed in Rs 2000 Note!

You may have also read about the Nano GPS feature in Rs 2000 note. The news about the nano GPS feature is making rounds in social media. It is claimed the Nano GPS feature of the note would make it traceable. The government would know the location of Rs 2000 note. It would also get alerted if several Rs 2000 notes remain in a place for a longer time.
However, Let's clarify there is no such feature in Rs.2000 note. I have gone through all the official information of RBI but there is no mention of this feature. Even in the press conference of Finance secretary, there was a question about this feature but the secretary denied any such feature. 
So the new Rs 2000 currency note has many security features not the Nano GPS.
